The Unified Virginia Chiropractic Association “Puts on the Ritz” in McLean, VA

Afton, VA – The Unified Virginia Chiropractic Association (Unified VCA or UVCA) met for its Spring Convention May 5-7 at the Ritz-Carlton Tyson’s Corner in McLean, Virginia.

Nearly 170 Doctors of Chiropractic and 60 Chiropractic Assistants attended the meeting, along with 46 supporting supplier companies.  The program featured top-notch educational presentations, dynamic speakers, a silent auction, organizational business, legislative updates, networking opportunities, exhibits displaying the latest products and services, a new member luncheon, increased camaraderie and lots of fun.

The DC and staff programs blended practical and inspirational sessions covering the art, science and philosophy of Chiropractic. The range of topics and speakers reflected the diversity of the unified organization. For example:

  • “The Lifestyle Care Continuum” by Dr. Eric Plasker
  • “The Nuts & Bolts of Creating a Successful Practice for New (and Not So New) Practitioners” by Dr. Kevin Pallis
  • “Medicare Documentation” by Dr. Michael Jacklitch
  • “Navigating the Active Care Maze” by Dr. Mark Sanna
  • “Mastering the Disc: Mechanical Assessment of the Spine and Extremities” by Dr. Jonathan Lesch
  • “A Philosophy Nightcap: Credibility and Prosperity” by Dr. Dean DePice
  • “The Spine & Posture is the Foundation for Human Health and Disease: A Contemporary Update on CBP Technique” by Dr. Deed Harrison
  • “Essential Oils 101” by Ms. Debra Dennis
  • “How to Attract and Retain More Patients with Public Speaking” by Mr. Roberto Monaco

Many of the classes were designed for both doctors and office staff to participate in together. There were also classes designed just for office staff led by seasoned instructors such as Dr. Mark Sanna and Dr. Louis Crivelli.

Profession updates and general membership meeting sessions featured a social media how-to by Dr. Carly Swift, a presentation on “Developing Future Professionals: The Pursuit of Perfect Form” by New York Chiropractic College’s President Dr. Frank Nicchi, an insurance update by Dr. Jeremy Busch, and a report on the East Coast Associations’ IPN (administered by SecureCare East Coast) by Dr. Jay Greenstein.  General Membership Meeting minutes have been distributed to members and are available upon request.

Educational programs and CEUs were just part of the convention excitement.  A diverse exhibit hall, Welcome Reception featuring local recording artist David Blankenship on the baby grand piano, “Puttin’ on the Ritz” sing-a-long and dance number, Guided Meditation led by Dr. Anna Bender, and President’s Reception added to the program.  A silent auction raised over $5000.00 to benefit chiropractic public relations work in Virginia. Highlights of the auction included an all-inclusive Caribbean vacation donated by UVCA member Dr. Steve VeGodsky, an Ergo drop table from Dr. Jack Ricci, unlimited virtual IT support from Computer Troubleshooters, and a chartered off-shore fishing trip from Dr. Lonnie Slone.  Member Dr. Chris Bruno surprised everyone with special t-shirts he made for the occasion, raising over $1000 to be split equally between the Virginia C-PAC and the UVCA Legal/Legislative Fund.

The Association's ability to bring this high level of expertise and excitement to Virginia Chiropractors at affordable rates was made possible by generous sponsorships from the following organizations:

  • 24/7 RnR
  • American Chiropractic Association
  • Brainspan
  • Breakthrough Coaching
  • Chirocenters Management Corp.
  • Chiropractic BioPhysics
  • DoTerra/Indigo Lifestyle Solutions
  • InfluenceOlogy
  • Insight Imaging
  • Life University
  • The New Renaissance
  • New York Chiropractic College
  • SecureCare
  • TLC4Superteams
  • Tuck Chiropractic Clinics
  • Zingit Solutions

UVCA President Dr. David Dolberg observed, “The strength of our bi-annual conventions is bolstered by our unified membership sharing diverse approaches to the primary goal of great patient care. Thus, the UVCA attracts great educators, inspirational speakers, and top notch vendors.” Dr. Dolberg added, “But this does not just happen. A great staff and education committee plan and run our conventions and meetings, and membership volunteerism is at an all-time high.”
