Where will this year's Congress of Chiropractic State Associations Convention be held? 
  • The 2014 COCSA Convention will be held November 6-8, 2014 at the Astor Crowne Plaza located in the French Quarter  in New Orleans, Louisiana.  The Astor Crowne Plaza address is 739 Canal Street @ Bourbon in New Orleans, LA  70130.  Astor Crowne Plaza is a non-smoking hotel.  NEW THIS YEAR - Sessions for ALL start Thursday morning at 8:30 am.  Hotel Front Desk:  1-504-962-0500,  Hotel Fax:  1-504-962-0501.  

Is there a special rate for a hotel room at the Astor Crowne Plaza?  

  • The negotiated nightly rate for the Astor Crowne Plaza is $195/night (single-quad occupancy) plus applicable taxes. Online reservations make sure to enter the Group discount code CSA for the room block.  You can also contact Central Reservations Office @ (888) 696-4806 and ask for the Congress of Chiropractic State Associations Annual Convention 2014 group rate.  All room rates are net and are quoted exclusive of appropriate state and local taxes.  Room rates are guaranteed if received by October 6, 2014.  After this date, any reservations requested by attendees will be based upon availability at at the Astor Crowne Plaza's prevailing rack rates.  Check-in time is 4:00 pm; check-out time is 11:00 am.  Crowne Plaza bell men can arrange to check baggage for those arriving early when rooms are unavailable and for guests attending functions on departure day. ‚ÄčAstor Crowne is SOLD OUT as of 10/15.  Contact Amy Hardin at (316) 613-3386 for hotel room assistance.  

What about parking in downtown New Orleans?  

  • Car Parking is available.  The Astor Crowne Plaza offers valet parking for $34 + tax per night at the Canal Street entrance.  Rates are subject to change without notice.  Parking is subject to availability.  During Special Events, please expect heavy delays due to road closures.  

What about transportation to/from the airport to the hotel?  

  • The hotel does not have a shuttle.  Airport Shuttle New Orleans is available to and from Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport and The Astor Crowne Plaza for $20 one way per person or $38 round trip per person.  Book online or call toll-free 866.596.2699 or 504.522.3500.  
  • Estimated Taxi Fare: $28 - $30 one way

What about internet access at the Astor Crowne Plaza?  

  • Standard wired and wireless Internet service is free for the COCSA guest room block.  NEW THIS YEAR - Unlimited Wireless Access will be available in the meeting space on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.  Internet  is also free for all IHG Rewards Club members.  Wireless Internet available in rooms, suites, business center and public areas.  Internet Access fee $9.95/day.  Registration for the IHG Rewards Club is FREE - here's the link to join!  

How do I get to the Astor Crowne Plaza - Driving Directions?    

  • Take I-10 East bound to I-10 New Orleans Business District, continue for approximately 2 miles to the St Charles Avenue Exit. As you exit, stay in the left hand lane and at the first traffic light, take a left onto Carondelet Street. Stay on Carondelet until you reach Canal Street. Take a right onto Canal Street (the hotel is on your left as you make this turn) and get into the left lane. Make the first u-turn available on Canal Street and circle back to the hotel on the corner of Bourbon and Canal Street (739 Canal Street) to experience one of the best hotels in the French Quarter! Special Event Parking: During Special Events (i.e. Sugar Bowl, Mardi Gras, Bayou Classic, etc.) valet parking can become a challenge due to road closures. In the event that the streets are blocked/closed guests should go directly to the Astor Crowne Plaza valet lot which is located at 145 University Place. 

How do I register for Convention?  

  • Online Registration is NOW OPEN!  Payment can be made with a credit card or you can select the Bill Me option to pay with a check.  Check payments in full should be received at the COCSA address of 12531 E. Meadow Dr., Wichita, KS  67206 within 30 days of registration unless prior arrangements have been made.  
  • Paper registration is available.  Download the Registration 2014 Form, complete, and fax to (316) 633-4455.  Please complete a separate registration form for each attendee.  

What's the cost for to attend Convention?  

  • Registration Package includes entrance to all informational sessions for 3 days plus entrance to the Exhibitor Hall. Includes Breakfast (Fri + Sat) , Lunch (Thurs, Fri. Sat) and snacks each day.  All special events also INCLUDED - Thursday night reception sponsored by NCMIC, Grand Second Line Parade sponsored by ChiroTouch, Welcome Dinner at Mulates sponsored by Standard Process, and Friday night Viva New Orleans reception sponsored by SecureCare.    
    COCSA Members = $475          ICA/ACA/CCGPP/Summit Members = $475           Non-Members = $750

Are there any discounts on registration pricing?    

  • Early Bird Registration will save each association member $75 off registration.  Discount expires 8/31!  State Associations with 3 or more attendees can save even more!  Contact Amy Hardin at (316) 613-3386 or Sheri Ryan at sryan@cocsa.org for details.  
  • You can register your spouse to attend COCSA 2014 with you for $275.  This registration includes all the special events.  

What if I am attending the Chiropractic Summit meeting and want to attend the COCSA Convention evening social events?     

  • Tickets are required to attend the special events.  Special events are included in COCSA Convention 2014 New Orleans registrations fees.  Separate tickets can be purchased for guests and Chiropractic Summit members who have not registered for the COCSA Convention.  Purchase online at http://www.cocsa.org/event/COCSA2014NationalAssociation or download a registration form, complete and fax to (316) 633-4455.  
  • Thursday, November 6th  - French Quarter Thursday night Extravaganza - $60 event ticket includes reception sponsored by NCMIC at the Astor Crowne Plaza with specialty drinks (Hurricanes!!), New Orleans-style Second Line Parade sponsored by ChiroTouch, and a traditional Cajun buffet dinner sponsored by Standard Process at Mulates, the legendary restaurant located in New Orleans and is recognized as the King of Cajun Dine and Dance Halls.  Mulates features live Cajun music and dancing along with great authentic Cajun food.       
  • November 7th - Viva New Orleans Friday Night Reception sponsored by SecureCare.  - $25 event ticket.  This unique reception in the Astor Crowne Plaza Exhibit Hall will be filled with crowd-pleasing live jazz music, heavy hors d'oeuvres, Tarot Card and Palm Readers, Caricature Artists, prize giveaways and MORE!  Cash bar.  
What's the dress attire for the convention?    

 

  • A mix of business suits and business casual for the day events.  Thursday night's outing is casual with comfortable shoes a must for the Second Line Parade!  Friday night is going to be a blast!  Come ready to have FUN!
